Featured by The Atlanta Business Chronicle for seven consecutive years as one of Atlanta's most outstanding public relations professionals, Julie Herron Carson offers strategic public relations services to a wide variety of clients.  Her specialties include media relations, newsletters, website writing, speechwriting and cause-related marketing.  She has over 27 years of expertise serving clients in the travel/tourism, hospitality, landscape and garden, consumer products, commercial real estate, healthcare and non-profit arenas.  In addition to her public relations work, Julie is also a feature writer for The Piedmont Review, The 30-A Review and Atlanta's Finest Dining magazines.

Julie served as the Atlanta Botanical Garden's marketing director for over a decade.  As such, she was responsible for all of the Garden's internal and external communications including media relations, newsletters, advertising, brochures, annual report, visitor materials and signage.  She also oversaw many of the Garden’s fundraising events and managed the organization’s corporate sponsorship program.  Prior to joining the Garden, Julie spent more than 13 years with some of the country's leading public relations agencies, including Carl Byoir & Associates, Hill and Knowlton and Fleishman-Hillard, as an account executive, account supervisor and vice president.

 


An Atlanta native, Julie is involved in the community and has served on the Board of The Southern Institute for Business and Professional Ethics and the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).  She has been an active participant in the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau Cultural Initiative and the Midtown Alliance, and currently serves on the Marketing Communications Committee of the Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross.  In addition, she is a 1995 graduate of the Midtown Alliance Leadership Program and is active in her church and sorority alumni organization.

Julie graduated with honors, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in English.  Honors include election to Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi and Mortar Board.  In 1996, she was honored with the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America's Dyar Massey Award for chapter service, and was twice named an Outstanding Young Woman of America.
